Its 1340-cc, liquid-cooled, inline, four-cylinder engine features four lightweight, titanium valves per cylinder. This allows lighter valve springs and higher lift while maintaining accurate control. The upper compression and oil control rings feature a hard chrome-nitride Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating for improved sealing and reduced friction. The motor also features Suzuki's Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers. It breathes through a ram-air intake with large-volume airbox. The exhaust system is a large-volume four-two-one-two arrangement and includes a large-capacity catalyst and dual triangular canisters. Fuel injection is the Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve system. The end result of all this technology is 194 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. The rider can use the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector to choose from three different engine settings optimized for different riding conditions.
